Isn’t he gorgeous? It’s been amazing to raise turkeys on our farm. This year is our first to try it, and we have found they are quite easy to raise and they become like additional guard dogs to the farm. They gobble at newcomers who drive in, and they recognize faces and voices, much like a chicken can.  They are very dinosaur like.

   

 

This is the organic lentil hodge podge mix I’ve been feeding to my pigs and hopefully poultry soon. I’m using it as a protein replacement to soy.  Currently I’m having a few livestock nutrition experts put together a ration with on-hand wheat to allow the animals to have a diverse diet and grow.

  
There’s a little bit of everything in this mix but the majority is lentils. If I were a pig or chicken, I’d want to eat this!
